DESIGN INSPIRATION: ARTWORK BY THE ANIMAL PRINT SHOP

Deborah Nelson November 7, 2014

I was looking at Domaine Home and saw this room, with this adorable artwork on the wall of a baby nursery. This is a print called wolf pup, shown below.

I was intrigued by the wolf print and found that the credit was given to an online company called The Animal Print Shop. They sell adorable animal prints. I think they are a perfect fit for a child's room, but they show their prints in a variety of rooms. This is a great resource for interesting animal artwork. I also love them in the white frames, it provides a soft backdrop and lets the animal print be the focus.

DIY: AFFORDABLE & STYLISH ARTWORK

I like to keep some inexpensive frames around that I can fill with any image to create some easy and affordable artwork. The art on the wall above are pieces I put together, matching frames with images. You can use antique prints, new prints or photography – whatever you have that works. Here is another piece in a white frame:

I've used an Ikea ribba frame and an old, vintage advertisement as the image. The frame comes in several different sizes and colours, so you can pick what works best for you.

Here's how this one looks finished (a bit hard to see the white frame):

This image is an old French, Hermes advertisement, you can sometimes find these on ebay or by hunting around at antique shops. I've found some great old images to put in new frames. I also often have a new matte cut to go around the image to fit perfectly. It gives it a custom framed look.

I used a variety of antiques in this guest room - the bed, chair, blanket and artwork were all items I've collected over time. I love how they add so much character to a room, the antique charcoal sketch above the bed is dated from the 1800’s
