When I purchased my old house, I wanted to add ‘new’ doors at the back of the house from the kitchen. I thought this would add charm to the space and I liked the idea of outdoor access here for carrying in groceries and things to the kitchen. So I went on the hunt for doors. Here are a few I found in my sourcing.
The pair I ended up going with (on the right) were very old, from an old Eastern European castle or something, so I thought that was a good fit for the house. I was also trying to figure out exactly (to the inch) where to place the doors in this shot.
The doors are in! You can also see the old door I bought for the front entry over leaning to the left. And I also bought an old antique brass door knob to go with the doors.
I was dying to paint the doors black to see how they would look. Here is a series of shots taken over time as things progressed in the reno.
